Mom J and wife Cheynne, tried to get pregnant for two years. They did multiple Intracervical inseminations (ICI’s), then moved on to IUI’s, both of which were unsuccessful. On top of feeling lost and hopeless, Mom J was later diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis and had undergone surgery to help resolve their infertility. The doctor they went through at the time, gave the couple devastating news that J wasn’t able to carry a baby because of her diagnosis and that her wife would have to carry instead. J quickly took to a dark place, a place she never thought she would come back from.
Fast forward in time and after many prayers and a rekindled passion to have a baby, the couple was referred to FIH by a friend. From that point on, they never looked back! Two IVF egg retrievals and 1 frozen embryo transfer later, they were pregnant with their son. During J’s pregnancy, she developed gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension and preeclampsia. However, their son, Owen was born healthy and whole on August 30, 2022.
“We are so blessed and thankful that we didn’t give up. God used one doctor and a closed door to open another one to Dr. Frattarelli and the FIH staff.”
