Parents Michelle and Matt are both members of the U.S. Coast Guard. Michelle is a Lieutenant Commander and Matt is a Contracting Officer. While they were both working in Washington DC, a mutual friend of theirs introduced them to one another and it was a perfect match. They quickly fell in love and got married in April of 2022. They knew they wanted to start a family as soon as possible. However, at the same time, they were also trying to combine their houses because in just a short two months later, they had to move halfway across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii for Michelle’s new assignment!
The couple had difficulties for a year conceiving on their own, but much to their surprise and excitement, Michelle was pregnant. Unfortunately, a short time later, they had a miscarriage. Following that, they decided to seek help from the Fertility Institute of Hawaii. After a thorough consultation and work-up, their first IUI was a success! Beautiful baby Anita was born on September 12, 2023 at 6 pounds and 12 ounces. Mom and Dad are beyond thrilled to have their little baby girl. “Thank you to the providers and the staff for making our dreams come true!”
